Happy Friday Internets! My new joint Paper thin is out today and available for streaming everywhere via Stanley Records. Paper Thin was one of the songs written for No Wonder the World Is Exhausted that we didn’t end up using for the album, but has since been a popular staple in live set. It was recorded and mixed by my good mate Sean Cook at Novotone here in Newcastle, with a little bit of help from Ash Blakeney at the Penny Gaff in Melbourne and features performances from Liam Ferguson, Mat Taylor, Tom Brooks, Laura Baxter, Georgia Delves and Pat Wilson. Although I wrote the song a few years ago now, in the last 18 months it has taken on some new meaning. The highs of releasing a debut album and getting some opportunities a couple years ago I couldn’t even have imagined were possible have teetered against a pretty tumultuous personal life hitting some pretty heavy lows. But I’ve managed to surround myself with some of the most incredible people to walk this earth, some of who I got to record this song with, and they have thrown love and support behind this bloke to help pull through. It’s a thing I certainly don’t take for granted and I will hold close to me forever. Paper Thin is a love song to these friends and family. Check it out HERE.
I’ll be out and about next week with Left Of The Dial and Georgia State Line. If you’re around we’d love to see you.
